Material thickness

The root barrier is available in two material thicknesses. The standard quality is suitable for applications where the barrier runs along a wall, concrete band, beam or something similar so that there is counter pressure and the chance of cracks is reduced.

The extra thick quality (HD quality) is 50% thicker and is intended for applications without counter pressure in the upper edge where the force on the material is greater. This professional quality is the best choice in the long term because of the higher strength and weather resistance.

Root barrier advice

For clump-forming (non-spreading) bamboos such as Fargesia, root guidance of 35 cm high without a connection set is sufficient. For spreading bamboos, 60 cm together with a 60 cm high connection set is recommended on heavy clay soil to prevent spreading. On loose / soft soil (sand / peat) we recommend 75 cm high with a connection set. For all safety, 100 cm high with the associated clamp can be chosen for sensitive objects.
