Reineckia carnea Compact Form

This rarely offered narrow-leaved relative of Liriope and Ophiopogon It forms an evergreen ground cover, even in deep shade. The flesh-colored flowers in autumn, resembling orchids, and the red berries that follow are remarkable. The peculiarity is that the inflorescences emerge from the root system, as some gingers do.

Grows to around 20 cm tall and prefers a humus-rich topsoil that can retain moisture reasonably well. This makes it an easy-growing species. It looks beautiful in the undergrowth or as an edging plant. The price is per plant.
